UTRECHT CENTRAL PROJECT

Urban and architectural design study for renewal of Utrecht Central Station including a 7.5 ha new station roof.

UTRECHT CENTRAL PROJECT

UTRECHT, 1997

Maxwan's task was to design the complex intersection of a shopping mall, the station itself, the bus and tram terminals and an additional program of offices and housing. This resulted in a multilayer architectural urban structure with public space on 4 different levels. Included in the scheme is the design of a new 70'000 m2 roof for the train station.
