SMART START
, 2005
The Smart Start competition, to us, was an invitation to study, in an urban surroundings, the possibilities of the much sought after suburban condition. Parking close to your home, a large outdoor private space, a large storage shed. Each house is provided with an exceptionally large terrace that is overlooking the communal courtyard. The courtyard allows the residents to indulge in typical 'suburban' activities: washing your car, playing with the dog, growing vegetables, etc. A row of 'garden sheds' is placed on the roof of the building, offering an extra 'attic space' that is lacking in the typical apartment.
