POMPENBURG - A HUB OF CONNECTIONS
ROTTERDAMPompenburg lies at the northeastern corner of Rotterdam City Centre. It could function as the link between the Centre and the residential area to the north, but railway lines sloping to pass under the river Maas form a barrier that sever these areas. Our proposal for this crucial site uses parking as a filler to create a raised ground plane in order to form a car-free environment linking north to south, Blaak to Zadkine, Hofbogen to Central Station, a hub of pedestrian and cycle links.
